Paramhansa Yogananda stated that all circumstances are neutral but appear positive or negative according to the attitude of the mind. Ananda Michigan has responded to the COVID-19 pandemic in a way that has opened doors to new possibilities, expansive growth, and unexpected changes. While our locations in Ann Arbor, East Lansing, Ferndale, and St. Clair have been closed, we have continued to offer Sunday Services online via Zoom, as well as group meditations, classes, and book studies. We are hopeful that the East Lansing Center and the meditation groups in Ann Arbor and St. Clair will be re-opening with adjustments for physical distancing and sanitary precautions later this year. The Ferndale Center has decided not to renew its lease, which expired on June 30, 2020. We concluded that the configuration of the space is not conducive to re-opening under the current guidelines.
Closing the Ferndale Center is the ending of one chapter and the beginning of another. Carla said it best when she shared her favorite quote from Dr. Seuss, “Don’t cry because it’s over. Smile because it happened.”
We invite all members of our Ananda Michigan community to participate in our online offerings until we re-open our physical locations and find a more suitable location to serve the members of our Ferndale community. We will email you weekly updates of our Zoom events.
